About Z Blog

The world has shrunk, and it’s time to take a deeper look at our attitudes toward our neighbors’ art and culture. This blog aims to bridge our modern aesthetics to their history.

ECLECTICISM

Remove the otherness and fetishization of “global,” “bohemian,” and, worse, “ethnic.” Instead think in terms of influence, appreciation, research, history, and context. You get Eclecticism.

Eclecticism is a responsible and culturally appropriate aesthetic. It’s in its infancy, but I hope to grow it the more I learn from reading, watching, and reflecting on my mistakes.
