Remove the otherness and fetishization of “global,” “bohemian,” and, worse, “ethnic.” Instead think in terms of influence, appreciation, research, history, and context. You get Eclecticism.

Eclecticism is a responsible and culturally appropriate aesthetic. It’s in its infancy, but I hope to grow it the more I learn from reading, watching, and reflecting on my mistakes.
